What kind of art do you create?
Currently, I am primarily creating blown glass art, using an oxygen/propane torch. I also create mixed media sculptures using wood, handmade paper, glass and metal. When I want to take a break from working with fire, I create jewelry from semi-precious stones and sterling silver.
Can you share your journey as an artist? What inspired you to pursue this path?
I knew from the age of 5 that I was destined to be an artist. I insisted on coloring outside of the lines in my coloring book. I earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture from the University of Illinois. After Graduate school I worked for 16 years on Dale Chihuly’s glassblowing team, creating blown glass sculptures and installations around the world.
